Gavin Floyd's PR Adventure
The Delaware News Journal Online has an interesting article about Phillies SP Gavin Floyd and his play in the Puerto Rican Winter League. My advice is to take it for what it is, but any kind of positive Phillies news is welcomed at this point in the offseason. From the article:
Floyd, a right-hander who turns 22 later this month, gave up 32 hits in 34 2/3 innings and posted a 3.89 ERA for Arecibo in the Puerto Rican Winter League. With spring training five weeks away, he'd like to parlay that into a job in the Phillies starting rotation.
...
In Puerto Rico, he said he resumed throwing the four-seam fastball and regained the bite on his curve. He made slight mechanical adjustments and concentrated on repeating the delivery with which he's most comfortable.
